For this session we held a screening of Paragraph 175 the academy-award winning documentary film by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.
This month’s screening of 'The Cockettes' by Bill Weber and David Weissman was followed by informal discussion about the psychedelic drag movement in the 1960s.
A range of news articles, publications from journals, and policy documents were read at this session. Discussion followed on to what extent there is a 'Gay Economy' and what it consists of.
Guest: Dr Paul Baker, Dept of Linguistics and Modern English Language, Lancaster University Radio sketches, news articles, and academic treatise, and books discussed language varieties including: Polari, Zulu IsiNgqumo, Indonesian Bahasa gay, South African Gayle.
